Games Day

On Friday, June 15th we celebrated Games Day with the entire school.  We were each assigned a colour and a number and we did our best to dress in on our assigned colour.  We then headed to the gym to meet with the rest of the kids that had the same colour and number as us.  There we met our grade six group leader.  This person took us from station to station all day long and they made sure that we were safe and having fun.  Here are a couple of pictures of us in the gym at the start of the day. From these pictures can you tell what the team colours were? We think you can.

We then set off to our stations.  Ms. Will and Ms. Lirenman were supervising at Station 3 which was a ball bouncing station with a whole bunch of fun adaptations such as eyes closed bouncing, bounce and spin, and one legged bouncing.  The station however was run by some awesome grade seven students. In fact all the stations were run by awesome grade seven students.  They did such a great job.

Now here's the sad part. While games day was going on Ms. Lirenman was visited by one of the tech people from our school district to help solve some of the technology problems that she was having.  This took much longer than it should have and because of that Ms. Lirenman didn't get out to see all of us having so much fun at our stations. So she's really sorry to say that she doesn't have any pictures from one of the funnest days of the school year. :-(  This makes her very sad.

The day ended with FREE pizza lunch from the parents followed by a few rounds of "tug of war". Ms. Lirenman was able to get pictures of some of us at this time.

Have you ever experienced a Games Day before? What was your favourite part? We'd love to hear from you.
